David Haile, M.D.

Receiving his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School Medicine, Dr. David J. Haile is a licensed physician who specializes in Internal Medicine. He is currently an assistant professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center, Division of Hematology, where the primary research interest of his laboratory is to determine how the body senses iron and regulates intestinal iron uptake. In addition to his continuous research, Dr. Haile has been on the UTHSC Admission Committee since 1995, serves on the University Hospital Research Committee as a member and currently as chairman. Dr. Haile also serves as an attending physician at the University Hospital. An active researcher, Dr. Haile has authored and co-authored a number of medical publications, reviews, and abstracts
